The Yorkshire Cancer Research Project are recruiting for two roles for fitness instructors to work on the Active Together cancer prehab/rehab programme on an 18 month fixed term contract.
Active Together is an innovative, programme delivering prehabilitation and rehabilitation to cancer patients in South Yorkshire. Running since February 2022, the service is a collaboration between Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals and is funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research.
The chosen candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team of university research staff, physiotherapists, dieticians, a psychologist and other fitness instructors to support patients to optimise their health before, during and after their cancer treatment, with a focus on cardiovascular health, strength, and wellbeing.
The applicant should be qualified to a minimum of Level 3 Exercise Referral (preferably Level 4 Cancer Rehab) and have experience of delivering both one to one and group classes to diverse populations with complex health needs. It is necessary to be able to evidence a proactive, can do approach to your work, a willingness to learn new skills and develop your practice in exercise oncology.
