Helping people manage the side effects of cancer or treatment and improve their quality of life.

For over 20 years, Professor Anna Campbell MBE has been researching the benefits of exercise after a cancer diagnosis. Over the last decade, CanRehab has been putting this research into practice, training exercise professionals to safely work with cancer patients and survivors.

A cancer diagnosis affects every part of life — your body, your energy, your confidence, and your sense of control. Treatment can leave lasting effects like fatigue, weakness, low mood, or bone and heart health challenges.

The good news? Movement can make a difference.

There is convincing evidence that being active at any stage of the cancer journey — before surgery, during treatment, after treatment, and even with advanced cancer — can make a real difference to your physical and mental wellbeing. Research shows that regular movement can be a powerful tool for improving life with or after cancer. It can help to:

  • Boost energy and reduce fatigue
  • Improve strength, balance and flexibility
  • Lift your mood and ease anxiety
  • Support bone and heart health
  • Improve sleep and overall quality of life
  • Even enhance how well treatments like chemotherapy work

Just moving your body, in a way that’s right for you, can help. You can read more on our ‘Benefits of Exercise’ page.
